Movie night with your significant other can be a special date. Pick the right film, the right snacks, and the right ambiance, and you can share a great experience with that person you cherish. However, flying blind and trying to find something on one of the major streaming services can be a nightmare. Next thing you know, you can be 45 minutes into your search with no snacks left debating whether or not you want to see a classic or an indie film.

The Notebook
Cliche? Yes. But it’s on the top of most film lover’s lists for a reason. Ryan Gosling and Rachel Mcadams star in this film about a boy from the wrong side of the tracks and a girl from a wealthy family. This film is an emotional rollercoaster, virtually guaranteed to make you laugh and cry, perhaps both at the same time.
Hitch
Will Smith, Kevin James and Eva Mendes star in a movie about how everyone has to eventually meet their match. Hitch is the date doctor, a man who can get any woman and can teach any man how until he meets a woman who isn’t interested in his suave tricks. What follows is a surprisingly deep story about letting down your walls to let other people is filled with plenty of laughs.
Seeking A Friend For The End of The World
Steve Carell and Keira Knightley star in a movie about how sometimes, the worst events bring out the best in ourselves. When it is announced that the world will be coming to an end in three weeks, Dodge sets out on an adventure with his neighbor that turns into something special. Although it starts a bit dark, the film is full of laughs and heartwarming moments.
Her
Quirky and strange but incredibly warm, this film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Amy Adams and Scarlett Johansson in a story about a man who falls in love with a computer system. The film is masterfully crafted and takes many of the questions and challenges of the premise head-on, underscoring its core theme, that love is love.
I Love You Man
Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones and Jason Segel star in this movie about the romance of all kinds and supporting the people you love. When a man realizes that he doesn’t have a best man for his upcoming wedding, he decides to try to make new friends. I Love You Man is charming and funny but also teaches an important lesson.
